We have two amazing Boz dogs from Emerald Mtn Ranch and can’t say enough good things about them! The breed is awesome and the experience/intro to guarding these pups come with is amazing. Jan is very knowledgeable and helpful. 100% recommend EMR!!

Our Turkish boz pup went right to work upon arriving on the ranch. She’s trustworthy with people, though not excessively friendly. She sure loves her sheep! The early training she received form Emerald Mtn. Ranch set her up for success.

My Boz, Lucas, is six months old. He is a wonderful dog. Working with Jan Stanko was a seamless experience. Her dogs are everything she purports them to be. She continues to be a great source of support for this first time LGD owner. Lucas is a healthy puppy with an excellent temperment. When he has reached maturity, I will be buying another puppy from Emerald Mountain Ranch!

Choosing a Turkish Boz Shepherd for our family was a big decision, and working with Jan at Emerald Mtn Ranch made all the difference. We brought home Nika a few weeks ago, and she is now 10 weeks old—happy, healthy, and already showing us exactly why this breed is so revered. ​It’s clear that Jan isn’t just focused on breeding; she is dedicated to preserving the real-world workability and stable temperament of these dogs. You can really see the effort she puts into early socialization. Honestly, training Nika has felt almost effortless because she is just so bright and eager to connect with us. ​What has truly blown me away, though, is how deeply hardwired her instincts are at such a young age. On one of our first family walks, our toddler started to head toward a neighbor’s farm dog. Before I could even react, Nika had already moved, calmly placing herself between our son and the other dog. She didn’t panic; she just evaluated the situation with a composure you rarely see in a puppy. Throughout the rest of the walk, she kept checking back on all the kids, naturally making sure the whole ‘pack’ was together and safe. ​Watching her protect and look after my children gives me so much peace of mind. If you are looking for a clear-headed, loyal guardian who is actually a joy to have around the family, I can’t recommend Jan and Emerald Mtn Ranch enough. Thank you, Jan, for raising such an incredible pup; she’s already a vital part of our family.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to have and raise such an amazing dog. Emerald Mountain Ranch is doing a truly amazing job selecting for robust, structurally sound, conformationally excellent dogs. Jan’s videos capture the exceptional fluid movement of her dogs, not common in giant breeds. When visiting her ranch before selection, I was impressed with the demeanor and temperament of all the Boz we met. We walked into pasture after pasture, meeting both studs and females. Without introduction, we were greeted without aggression, fear, or excessive energy. Truly well socialized dogs, bred not just for genetic health, but sound and stable temperament. The value of Jan’s early conditioning of the pups including early exposure to various sensory experiences, can’t be overstated. I describe our puppy Dominion as bomb proof. He isn’t afraid of engines, fireworks, crowds of people, car rides, elevators, you name it. He also is incredibly gentle with our Pomeranians and any children he meets. I can’t imagine someone being a better custodian to this breed than EMR/The Stanko’s. Thank you for this amazing, stable, gigantic companion.
