I love sharing all the good, fun, and beautiful parts of ranch life with you all – but the truth is, it’s not always easy out here. It’s hard work, no days off, and sometimes no matter how much you try, things still go wrong.
The Joys and pains of lambing season:
Lambing started with a trip to the vet since one of the ewes was having trouble. We were able to get her in and deliver triplets. But the other day we lost the triplets. Then on Monday we had three different ewes lamb and were trying to separate the lambs do they would go with the correct mother, but we got the two sets of triplets separated.
The Joys and pains of calving:
We had two sets of twins this year on the ranch. One cow was able to easily deliver both calves but could not support both claves, so we had to bucket one of them. The other cow fell on one twin while delivering the other and we lost it.
