Hard to believe this 160 lb "puppy" is only 14 months old 🐾

Brinks had a big day yesterday helping us teach the local 3rd graders all about ranch life. It was his first time around kids, and he truly showcased the legendary temperament of the Turkish Boz Shepherd. He was a complete gentleman, letting the children crowd around and pet him while we explained the purpose of LGDs.

We couldn't be happier with how this young male is maturing. Reliable, intuitive, and kind. Just a few of the many reasons we are so dedicated to this breed.

It’s always a treat to have the local 3rd graders out for Ranch Days. This is a tradition Jim and Jo have hosted for over 50 years with the Routt County Cattlewomen. We had a mix of kids, some come from ranching families and know the drill, but for many others, this is a totally new world. By the time they head home, everyone has learned something they didn’t know before.

️We stayed busy with three main stations:

️🔹️ The Technology: Justin started us off with a drone demonstration to show the modern side of things, then Jim took over to share the ranch equipment, showing the kids how we get the work done.

️🔹️Water and Livestock: Pat and Jan talked about the importance of water and how flood irrigation works. The kids also got to spend time in the corrals to pet a horse and, of course, everyone took a turn walking through the squeeze chute.

️🔹️The Pasture: Jo and Justin loaded kids up for a hayride out through the fields to check on the cows and calves.

We finished the day on a high note with popsicles to cool off, and a chance for the kids to meet our giant working LGDs.
Taylor handed out peacock feathers so everyone had a souvenir to take home.

Seeing those big smiles and listening to them chatter about their favorite part of the day makes all the hard work worth it. It’s a wonderful feeling to watch them connect with the land and leave with a little more appreciation for ranch life ❤️

We believe in giving these Turkish Boz pups every advantage we can from day one.
Using things like bubble wrap might look simple, but it is a huge part of setting them up for success.
By exposing them to these sounds now, we help them grow into calm, fearless guardians who can handle the reality as adults.
It’s all about building that early confidence 🐾
